Upgrading Widgets

A Widget's creator can publish a major version: one that changes what you set up when you added it, such as its Inputs. Your Frame keeps running the version you set up, so nothing breaks. You choose when to upgrade.

Spotting an update

  • In the Page Builder, a warning triangle shows beside the menu (⋮) of a placed Widget with a newer version. Hover over it to see which version.
  • In the Widget Selector, the Widget shows Update available.
  • When you choose Add to Frame on an installed Widget, each install of it shows its version, and Update available if there's a newer one.

Upgrade a Widget

  1. Click the menu (⋮) on the placed Widget, or right-click it, and choose Upgrade to v2… (with the new version's number)
  2. Read what's new in each version, and what changes for your Widget. For example, an input that is no longer used, or an option that is no longer offered.
  3. Check the settings. Everything that still fits the new version is filled in for you. Fill in anything new, and connect any new integration.
  4. Choose Upgrade

Your Frame shows the new version the next time it updates.
